Town and Country Workshop – 19 June 2019

Bas Relief – 1pm to 4pm – Mulgrave Neighbourhood House, Mackie Road, Mulgrave. Members $12, Non-Members $20.

“And they call it puppy love….”

This workshop will cover the art of “low relief”, where the figure in the foreground is sculptured in high relief thus allowing the background to be “low”. This type of sculpture in icing will have less depth to the face and figure than it actually has when measured proportionately. You will learn how to retain the natural contour of the figure, and allow your work to be viewed from many angles without distortion of the figure.

We will add some color and bling to our workshop and make it a bit more exciting. Contact me at tccakedeco@gmail.com for the requirement list. Your plaque will need to be made one week before the workshop.

Australian National Cake Decorators’ Association 18th National Seminar 2015

In 2015 the Australian National Cake Decorators’ Association (ANCDA) is holding their National Seminar on the Gold Coast!

If you love cake decorating, sun and air-conditioned gambling then this event is for you! Five days of cake, cake and more cake. From 23rd August-28th August Jupiters Casino will be hosting the event and from all reports it’s massive and yet so selective you can’t find any information about it online. That’s why we’re here to help!

This pdf gives you all the information you need to enter the competitions (yes there’s more than one) In conjunction to the competitions there are 5 days worth of demonstrations, interstate teachings (you can see how techniques vary from state to state) and international cake artists!

As you’ll see there are multiple themes so have a look and if you enter make sure you let us know so that the VCDS can get behind your entry!

Workshop: The Sugar Peony

Another gorgeous workshop coming up for our Eastern Branch

VCDS - EASTERN BRANCH

peony This beautiful peony was created by the uber talented and generous Landy from Choice Cakes . And we are very lucky that she will be teaching us how to create this magnificent flower at our March workshop! (Saturday, March 22nd, 1-4)

Many of you may remember Landy’s last demonstration at Eastern; how to make a topsy turvy cake. It was incredibly popular and we are beyond lucky that she’s agreed to return. Landy has been decorating cakes for over 30 years and her enthusiasm and love for the craft is contagious. She knows it all and luckily for us, she’s a wonderful teacher who loves to share her knowledge and skills with us. She also has the most well stocked shop we’ve ever seen. She will be bringing some items to sell including cutters and colours you will need on the day plus some new toys that are sure to…
